Emily's hurdle taks
I have decided to answer and identify these 21st century skills, using the one problem that my class will have to put steps into place to solve. The problem that I am using is the Organisation of a Charity Event.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
We will create a Wallwisher page that all students and people from relevant companies can add important information to and can brainstorm many of the areas of that we need to organise efficiently to make this function a success. Many problems can also be encountered and resolved through this method. Brainstorming is the beginning and the most vital part or organising any event, and critical to the direction of the event. The skills needed for this task are quite basic: set up a basic Wallwisher program and add the specific charity and any organisations who may be interested in the event. Communication skills are vital in searching for relative organisations.

Collaboration across Networks and Leading by Influence

The students are to set up a Wikispace, that is to connect a variety of organisations. The students will put public notices on this site and promote both the event, charity and supporting organisation through this process. All such organsations will also be invited to join using the pre-existing wiki-space link below. This will be the sole source of the creation of the event.

Agility and Adaptability
I would get the students to create a mind map using the program Mindmeister. Through this program a variety of sources can link many of the ideas of the Event together. This program can be adapted and changed by a variety of sources. Activities, foods, music and other such things can be identified and the details can be manipulated by other sources who may want to change some of these areas to fit their client base.

I have created a Mindmeister map below to give an insight into the the event can be adapted from this program.

Initiative and Entrepreneurialism

In order to receive funding for this charity event, we will need to source other companies. The aim is to prove that our Charity Event will both benefit the charity that we are working for, and also the companies that will profit us. By doing that we will be creating Invitations using the program Glogster. This program can be sent via print or via the web and has an interactive design featuring a video. This could also easily be transformed to PDF and the invitations could be sent via newspaper, magazine and a variety of other methods.

Effective Oral and Written Communication

Using another form of promotion the students will be taught how to create their own video, upload it via voicethread, and add their own comments into it to detail the importance of the event to them. The importance of this video is to publicise the event, widen the public's interest and knowledge of the charity, and also once again to publicly thank the companies that are supporting this event. This voice thread can be played over the internet or even via the radio. The skills that are necessary for this task are creativity, and genuine care and empathy towards the charity (which should some through in the voicethread commentary). The students also need to have basic movie making skills (using basic tools: cameras and video cameras, or using movie making programs such as Windows Live Movie Maker 11)

Accessing and Analyzing Information

Students are to create a Facebook page as a networking site. They are to create it for an event, and use it to get the importanct details of the function across, and the point of their charity event. This event can be public or private and certain guests can be limited to an invite for the event. The RSVP response section will give a clear outline as to how many people are expected to attend, and from there - the students can begin to organise the catering details for the event (and just how much food, and even service is needed).

A facebook site has been set up already for this event and is called the Fake Charity Event

Below is some of the comments and feeds that have already been put on the website.

    Curiosity and Imagination

Finally the students are to create their own video using ACMI Generator, this is a storyboard program that videos can be created from. The students can use a variety of tools to create these storyboards including models, drawing, photos and other such methods. This video can also be used for a variety of their other tasks; such as being placed in their Glogster poster, or in thei voicethread.
